New Hope® Publishers is pleased to announce the release of One Life, Two Paths by Kimberly Sowell and Brian Saxon. By exposing and dissecting the decisions of King Saul, One Life, Two Paths reveals key biblical truths, spiritual markers, and principles essential in decision-making for today’s believer. Every day we make decisions and can, like King Saul, unconsciously choose a direction that leads us out of God’s favor and away from His intended opportunities. One Life, Two Paths uncovers the man who lost it all in order to help guide believers successfully in walking with the ultimate King of Kings.
“One Life, Two Paths is a well-written evaluation of King Saul and extrapolated from this study comes powerful life lessons for us all. It is filled with practical life-application lessons on integrity, patience, and wisdom. You will see the importance of spiritual check-ups and learn applicable truths, which will help with daily living in the twenty-first century. As you work through this study, God’s Word will come alive in a real and relevant way. This study is a great resource for personal spiritual growth.” —Dr. Frank S. Page, president and chief executive officer, Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention
“The life of King Saul offers one of the more frustrating accounts of a leader in the Old Testament. At the same time, he shows us reality, as each of us can identify with him in some way. This study will take you into the life of Israel’s first king to see both the devastating effects of sin and the wonderful work of grace.” —Alvin L. Ried, senior professor of evangelism and student ministry, Bailey Smith Chair of Evangelism, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
Kimberly Sowell, author of the “Thin Red Line” Bible study series, is the founder and president of Kingdom Heart Ministries, a ministry dedicated to inspiring women to make their relationship with Jesus Christ the center of who they are and how they live each moment, growing in Christ and sharing their faith with the world. Kimberly holds a bachelor of arts degree from Clemson University and a master of divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has authored and edited numerous magazine articles and newsletters for various evangelical groups, and has been featured on various radio and television programs. She and her husband, Kevin, along with their children, make their home in Lancaster, South Carolina.
Among Brian Saxon’s spiritual gifts are leadership, preaching, teaching, and shepherding, which he uses to accomplish his passion for making disciples of Jesus Christ. Working early in life as a civil engineer, he currently serves as the pastor of a growing church in South Carolina where he encourages Christ followers to live out their maximum potential for God. An avid football fan who also finds time to enjoy hunting, fishing, and woodworking, he considers himself blessed to have an amazing ministry partner, his wife Lesley, by his side. Together, they have two daughters, Andrea and Abigail.
